We leverage proprietary technology to deliver highly targeted advertising. The company is a well funded startup founded in early 2008. The executive team has a deep experience in the online advertising space. Team consists of executives and senior staff from companies such as Yahoo!, DoubleClick, Oracle, AOL, and Microsoft. Our systems analyze large amounts of data to make display advertising work. We are looking for a data analyst who will utilize their exceptional business judgment, strong analytic and quantitative skills, and strong presentation skills to identify opportunities that improve the performance of our ads along with evaluating new product concepts.
Role:
- Provide expert advice in the usage and interpretation of data
- Provide decision support by creating reports, running queries, and performing advanced analytics such as statistical analysis and data mining
- Play a key role in defining analytic metrics which drive the business forward
- Design data structures optimized for analytic queries
- Define business rules and transformations for data coming from source systems into the data warehouse
- Identify data quality issues and their root causes. Propose fixes and design data audits

- Exceptional business judgment, data mining and quantitative analytic ability. Hands-on data analytics experience is a must
- Strong academic profile with an emphasis on quantitative coursework (e.g., degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Econometrics or Engineering).
- Expert Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills; experience with database query tools (e.g., SQL); and a strong understanding of data warehouse architecture are required. Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (e.g., SAS) is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience, ideally at a leading management consulting firm, or corporation with a strong data-driven culture
- Strong interpersonal skills including ability to present insights and recommendations persuasively
- Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity.
- High energy and a desire to work in a results-oriented, fast growth environment.
- Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment while juggling multiple responsibilities.
- A passion for understanding the workings of online advertising
