Reporting to the Quantitative Analytics Manager the Quantitative Analyst is a full-time position located in San Diego, California.

Quantitative Analysts work all across the organization to help shape Bridgepoint’s strategies by processing, analyzing and interpreting huge data sets. Essential Job Duties:

• Conduct exploratory data analysis and create effective visual displays of data with statistical validity
• Develop analytic and statistical solutions to provide insight and actionable results and recommendations.
• Extract, clean, and prepare data for analysis
• Provide ad hoc analysis for various stakeholders throughout the organization
• With guidance, develop analysis plans and strategies, effectively estimate work effort.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven ability to use analytics to answer business questions, appropriately selecting the relevant analytical technique, utilizing excellent data visualization and presentation skills, and effectively communicating recommendations.
• Solid understanding of quantitative methodology. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of a leading data mining software packages such as SAS. Experience with Tableau desirable
• Data extraction and preparation skills from multiple data sources.
• Knowledge and understanding of relational database servers, including Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute concurrent projects and tasks in a high-pressure environment based on direction given.

Education:

• Minimum Bachelors in the field of Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field and 2 years work experience, or Masters in relevant field.

The employee will be required to make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations, grasp and apply new ideas, communicate with various personalities at all levels and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.

Work Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to work in an office environment, and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
