Senior Software Development Engineer in Test - Bing (Redmond, WA)

Cosmos is full stack service including web interface, SQL like language, parallel computing, compile and runtime optimization, and distributed storage system.

It is by far the largest Microsoft datacenter storage and distributed computation platform by providing the foundation for mission-critical Business Analytics (BI/CI) services that power the majority of the Microsoft mega online services. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a very visible project that is growing rapidly.

We’re looking for senior tester to help to solve some problems as followings: distributed execution of coarse-grain data-parallel applications; distributed fault-tolerant stream replication, geo-replication, storage of very large data sets, high throughput access to data; virtual cluster web service, sql like language to retrieve and manipulate massive data, to automated detection of hardware and software failures; performance monitoring, data mining and analysis of distributed events and activities.

Requirements:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required, and a master’s degree is preferred.
2. Experience shipping at least one commercial software product in an engineering role (test/dev/pm)
3. 5+ years programming experience (C#, C/C++)
4. Interest in the convergence of datacenter computing, highly scale, highly available and fault-tolerant storage and distributed computation; distributed database and file systems; text/log mining and BI; experience with Recovery-Oriented Computing concepts and design is a big plus
5. Proactive and self-motivated
6. Good communication skills and ability to work with other functional roles
