Promote your blog
When your blog starts having some content of quality that interest readers, you can begin promoting it using various techniques. Here are some of them:
* Subscribe in various search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Live, etc.
* Subscribe in directory such as DMOZ, etc.
* Use social network tools (DELICIOUS, Digg, Reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, Stumble, Technorati, MySpace, Alexa, etc.)
* Add a link at the end of your e-mail
* Comment on related blog and add a link in your signature
* Link to your blog from your websites (or website of friends/colleagues)
* Be patient: improvement will be visible only after some months...

Regarding search engines, I think the best idea is to do it manually with major search engines.
The social network tools can be used as a way to manually promote your blog to a very specific audience. These two processes can be time consuming, but may be very efficient.
I'm looking forward to reading more about your blog!
