Updated Information Regarding our $250 Prize for the Member of The Month Award

From now on, members with an interesting profile will be contacted (or they can contact us at vincentg@datashaping.com) on the first week of the month, to discuss whether they are interested in winning the $250 monthly award. Once a candidate has been approved for a particular month (e.g. April 2009), then the chance to win the award is 100%, once they receive our confirmation. To be approved, a candidate must agree to post quality content in our forums and/or recruit analytic members.

Companies interested in matching our $250 award are also welcome to contact us. This is a great marketing strategy to attract new hires or increase your visibility.

What will be the criteria to select Member of the Month? Is a new member eligible to get this prize!?

Nice profile with picture (can be a logo) and better design than LinkedIn, interesting posts in forums, groups or on your blog, recruiting new members, anything that add value to AnalyticBridge.

These are some of the tips that I used for winning the Member of the Month twice.

1) Sent an invite to analyticbridge.com to my whole Gmail Address Book ,Yahoo address book,Hotmail address book.
I sent it only once to avoid spammng issues - and thus I gain more of my acquaintances joining an online network where I spend time.

2) Spent time on working the Page on my profile so it is attractive , and added Ning applications especially RSS for reading tech news etc from sites I like, Twitter Search for search on keyowrds I like, my own blog RSS feed , and the Blog promo from www.feedburner as the site allows HTML to be posted in profiles.

3) Cross posting blog articles - The interviews were done on my blog. I just copied and pasted the whole into my blog at Analyticbridge.com including html format. Takes two minutes. Then I shared the Blog posts with several Linkedin groups ( apart from Datashaping and the Decisionstats group on Linked http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=54257

I also get good amount of blog traffic , it works both ways win win not zero sum.

Do you have interesting content/old article which you think you can share. Just copy and paste in the blog section here - gives you 4400 potential people who read it.Takes less than 5 minutes to do that....

4) Sometimes you dont have your own article. You like reading and discussion more than writing. What to do? There must be some other article /blogs that you want to discuss . Just mention source with the hyper link and post in discussion forum. A great example is www.smartdatacollective.com which has groups of bloggers and the top 250 bloggers in this field

5) Best number of members come from huge LinkedIn connections. Just send them an invite . What is more------ people who sign up end up thanking for showing them a nice site.Follow Vincent on Twitter and join the Linkedin groups

6) Visit Analyticbridge.com . Once a day . Thats it. In fact I visit it using the RSS feed OF Analyticbridge activities on my blog so I get an alert when interesting article comes up.

7) Any interesting member - I say Hi and send them a connection request. Most of these accept as friends and you learn new things from each hi and hello- new softwares , new areas, how particular field /profession is doing in one country far away.

8) This sounds like too much work. Nope. Just learn one new thing a day and share one new article in every two days. Post Youtube videso you like ,Photos you like.

9) Flatter Dr Granville saying he seems to have lost weight in the photograph. It is the same photo since before, but who cares ( Nah I am kidding)

These are some of my views. You may find even more ways of your own.Note nearly all the ways that I mentioned don't take much time just some practice/habit.Happy Surfing !!!
