We talk about artificial intelligence, and it is exactly that, artificial. Real intelligence is capable in the machine environment, but it will take time.

We want it to go beyond the intelligence that we see in our workforce. Currently today the standard for success is the number of LOCs (Lines of Code). Our building are filled with twenty something people wearing headphones who just pound away on the keyboards, without any plan, architecture, design, formulae, anything. Just typing. Ask about V&V and you will hear "what's that?"

But these prolific typers are rewarded for the large number of LOCs and we wonder why our work is being outsourced to India and China.
