Short Bio:
I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Kansas. I used to be an advertising copywriter/creative director (18 years)—yes, it's definitely an odd background for someone interested in quantitative research methods. My dissertation research employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Multilevel Modeling (MLM/HLM) using original data from a large-N national survey of local government managers in all U.S. cities with populations > 50,000. Secondary data from various sources is also used, along with some supplemental qualitative research.

Hello Paul: Considering your background in OR and economics I would thin that you would be interested in quantile regression because it uses models that can be handled with linear programing and because the parametric assumptions in most other models are not necessary. try googleing SAS + quantile regression. Be well. LL
