I started my programming carreer in 1974 supporting civil engineers using FORTRAN at the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation.
In 1984 I started programming in SAS and have been using it as my primary language since.
I have used SAS as a contractor and as a full time employee in both the public and private sectors, including healthcare, insurance, local, state and US government agencies, manufacturing, telecommunications, commercial aviation and education.
Since 2000, I have been working primarily in the healthcare insurance industry specializing in HEDIS reporting and analytics. I have many years of analyzing facility, provider and pharmaceutical healthcare claims.

Ray, if you would like to learn more about Six Sigma, please feel free to access my publication, Six Sigma IQ at www.sixsigmaiq.com. We don't offer certification, but if you sign up as a member on the site, you will be able to ask members what their thoughts are on certification, as our site is also a social networking site for the Lean Six Sigma/Process Excellence community. Please let me know if you may have any other additional questions.
One of my friends and a great contributor to AnalyticBridge, Ajay Ohri, has just arrived in Tennessee, straight from India, to complete a PhD program. I invite you to connect with him.
Ray, best regards. I do not know Rick Pro. Now that I am aware, I will keep an eye out for him. My group manages the SAS annual data mining conference in Vegas ( M2009) and if he is connected with DM here at SAS, then our paths might cross.
Hey, Ray, I have been here long enough to learn what NOVA means!! I think I am signed up for DC Sug, but I am not sure. I'll have to check and find out.

I am not currently hiring; I also checked our internal and external postings and did not see any SAS needs at this time. This could change very quickly some time this year as there are rumblings concerning predictive analytics in several business areas. Check in periodically and I will also keep an eye out for you on this end.
Regards,
John
Hi Ray,
There are occasions on which a client of mine needs me to conduct a talent search for SAS programmers. That discipline is not the primary focus of my practice, however. If you have experience doing SAS programming related to clinical trials on either drugs or devices in the pharmaceutical industry, there is a chance I may come across an opportunity you would be qualified for and I would be happy to contact you under those conditions. If this is the case, it would be helpful for me to have at least a bio of your primary relevant experience, relevant accomplishments, your location, whether you would relocate (and, if so, where), and a direct method of contacting you.
Best regards,
Kara
