Profile Information

Short Bio:
Shlomo Argamon is currently an associate professor of Computer Science at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). He received a B.Sc. (1988) in applied mathematics from Carnegie-Mellon University and an M.Phil (1991) and Ph.D. (1994) in computer science from Yale University, where he was a Hertz Graduate Fellow. He was a Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow (1994-1996) at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, and a faculty member at the Jerusalem College of Technology, before coming to IIT in 2002.

Dr. Argamon's current research includes work on forensic linguistics, sentiment analysis, computational stylistics, authorship attribution, systemic functional linguistics, machine learning, computational linguistics, text classification, clustering, and humanities computing.
