Data Science Central Exclusive: Get Featured in Rick Smolan's "The Human Face of Big Data"

To all members of DSC and AnalyticBridge,

I'm writing to tell you about a fascinating project taking place next month aimed at showcasing the work of professionals working in the Big Data arena.  The organizers are dispatching one hundred of the world's leading photojournalists to 30 countries in March to capture stories for a project called "The Human Face of Big Data", to show all the ways Big Data is touching peoples lives around the world.

If you'd like to be featured in the project please provide the organizers with information below (the project takes place next month so please send in your suggestions by February 28)

"The Human Face of Big Data" project is the latest from Rick Smolan, the creator of the "Day in the Life" projects.  Smolan's team at Against All Odds Productions specializes in the design and execution of large-scale crowd-sourced global projects that combine compelling storytelling with state-of-the-art technology. To produce these projects Smolan invites teams of leading journalists (plus hundreds of thousands of members of the general public) to come together for a day or a week to focus on emerging topics like the global water crisis, the effect of the Internet on civilization, or how the human race is learning to heal itself, etc. His projects result in best selling illustrated books, TV specials, apps, exhibits and hundreds of millions of media impressions are regularly featured on the covers of publications around the globe including Fortune, Time, and Newsweek.

Here is a glimpse at how everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Martha Stewart features his projects:
Smolan's upcoming project "The Human Face of Big Data" (nicely featured in the Sunday NYT at http://nyti.ms/z8v2Xf ) is aimed at sparking a global conversation about how Big Data may represent one of the most powerful tools the human race has at its disposal to address some of the biggest challenges facing our species.

THEY NEED YOUR HELP IN FINDING GREAT ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHERS!

On this website http://thehumanfaceofbigdata.com/examples you can find examples of the kinds of stories the organizers are looking for, to give you some guidance and inspiration. They look forward to hearing about your Big Data ideas.

Here is a form  http://thehumanfaceofbigdata.com/assignments where you can submit potential assignment ideas to have your work featured.

Good luck to all!
