Official salary of 30,000 University of Washington employees

This information is public and can be found at http://lbloom.net/uw05.html. See the individual salaries at www.datashaping.com/uw2005.txt, ranging from $7/hr to $40,000 per month. The highest salaries are associated with "coach football" job titles: maybe this university specializes in teaching football.

In any case, this is a great source of information for data mining. Every state has to publish the salaries of public university employees, so it would be interesting to gather and compare with statistics from other states. These salaries are official numbers reported by UWA to the IRS - so this is different from survey numbers.

This is just crazy - now this website publishes names and salaries for more than 100,000 people in the Pacific Northwest: see http://lbloom.net/index09.html

Beware old Data.  Kieth Gilbertson was released as the head football coach from the University of Washington after the 2003-2004 football season.  A lot can change in 7 years, especially these last 7 years.

Based on name / job title / salary, it would be interesting to see if there is gender / racial discrimination. What is surprising is the very large number of nurses: they all have pretty much the same salary between $5,000 / $6,000 a month. It would be interesting to see what the ratio male / female is for nurses.
