SPSS and Minitab Syntax

Hi All
I usually face problems to use SPSS/Minitab syntax for various tests but i do not know how to use syntax. Could anybody suggest me easy way to start with syntax and then become perfect to use syntax.Any book/video/website for this or any other advice would be very useful.
