Wayne is correct Alteryx is a very powerful ETL tool for business analysis. A very large percentage of business data has a spatial component. Alteryx has built in tools to find a nearest point, compute a drive time, filer based on location, append additional fields spatially, and produce very nice reports.

I recently built a report module in alteryx for a health insurance provider. The module analyzes the location of insurance subscribers to their five nearest network physicians for 11 specialties. It then produces a report by zip code and by county showing the number and percentage of subscribers that meet a predefined standard for physician accessibility(and to complicate things, the standard varies by specialty and by county). The module processes about 1/3 million subscribers in 3 minutes and the result is a nicely formatted 300 page PDF report.

Before using Alteryx the process took an analyst several months using a combination of MS Access, MapInfo, and Excel.

I took me a few days to build the module, but now in future years the process will be done in minutes.

I LOVE Alteryx ...
