SAS, with more than [...]

Note I am using the website http://www.tiny.cc/ which has a great 10 sec method of shortening urls, just like www.tinyurl.com You can view the graph here http://tiny.cc/ITES and [...]

All the Inventors and Pirates

A terrific site for filing patents is http://www.patentstorm.us/ It has great features and a great database as the US Patent office, and it makes sense for an average Joe without needing a patent attorney. A terrific site for copyright infringement is http://thepiratebay.org/ Apparently it is legal as per Swedish law, and thus makes it easier for people [...]

Cloud Computing with R - Creating Data Mining on Demand

Here is a framework jokingly called the Ohri framework for creating a data mining on demand mechanism. The Ohri Framework tries to create an economic alternative to proprietary data mining softwares by giving more value to the customer and utilizing open source statistical package R , with the GUI Rattle , hosted on a cloud computing environment. It is based on the following assumptions- 1) R is relatively inefficient in processing bigger file sizes on same desktop configuration as other soft… Continue

Hi Ajay,
I am a postgraduate in Economics with econometrics as my specialization. Presently am in Mumbai in search of a job in the field of Analytics. In order to sustain myself I m doing a job of copywriter in a broking firm.. I dont have any knowledge regarding the regression software packages. So far I got only one interview call from a Mumbai based firm called Kairoleaf Analytics but couldn't qualify in the second round, mostly becoz of not having any practical know-how in this line.

Can u please give any advice (what sort of books to go thru, what sort of questions i might face in the interviews, what are the other ways to make my job hunting more focussed etc.) regarding the improvement of my present situation ?
